Last week, I mentioned the main factors that age our skin. Today I am going to focus on one way to decrease aging skin.
Focus: Boost our Cell Turnover & Revewal
If we increase cell turnover of our skin, then we are stimulating collagen production. Collagen is what keeps our skin strength, elasticity, and structure. Skin renewal will help keep your skin bright and glowing.
So how do we increase cell turnover on our skin? We have to exfoliate. There are two main types of exfoliation: Deep & Surface or Chemical & Mechanical.
Deep/Chemical Exfoliation: Products that contain Retinoids, Alpha Hydroxy and Beta Hydroxy are good. What we would recommend here is Rx Skin Therapy’s Retinol product and Glycolic Acid Peel. The Retinol can be used nightly, and the peel should be used about two times a week.
Surface/Mechanical: You want to use a scrub for surface exfoliation. But you have to be careful in your choice here because many scrubs can really dry out the skin and cause inflammation. Something that even has a fruit seed as the scrub is good here. We recommend Rx Skin Therapy’s Invigorating Facial Scrub. This type of exfoliation can be done three times a week.
Now, we cannot leave out the importance of a proper diet. Sugar will have damaging effects on your skin. Good fats from salmon, avocados, tuna, olive oils will help keep your skin glowing. Don’t underestimate the power of Omega 800’s and Buffered Vitamin C on you skin, as well.
