This tidbit of news is important because we are approaching summer and with that hopefully means swimming!

Did you know that the term “soap” is heavily regulated? Yep. It’s true. Companies are not allowed to use the word soap unless it is truly a REAL handcrafted bar of soap. That is why you see some many “beauty bars” and “dry skin cleaners” and “anti-aging moisturizing bars.”

Another piece of interesting information is that with summer coming and swimming pools opening, before getting into the pool, you want to do two things. First, rinse with cool water and use a soap with lavender or citrus to help block absorption of chemicals like chlorine.  The cool water helps to close pores, keeping more of the chemicals out!

As always,

Be well,
