Whole wheat and wheat bran foods are abundant dietary sources of insoluble fiber.  A recent study was done that concluded :   “higher intakes of fibre, especially insoluble, may contribute to lower BP, independent of nutrients associated with higher intakes of fibre-rich foods.”  It is best to find the insoluble fiber in food sources and add soluble fiber from supplementation.
