Time to Detoxify

We ask a lot of our digestive tract. We rely on it to not only breakdown the foods we eat and make them available for absorption, but also to aid in immunity, provide for energy levels and to be the first strike in detoxifying our system.

Detoxifying Necessity

We don’t often realize the magnitude of the task performed by our gut. We eat three square meals a day, and usually without a second thought, assume that everything is alright. It is not until we experience heartburn, gas, bloating or perhaps a loss of energy, that we are faced with the notion that it is time to clean the system. This “cleaning” is called Detoxification.

Unfriendly Microtoxins, poorly absorbed foods, heavy metals and chemicals – these materials can accumulate in the digestive tract and begin to undermine our overall health by inhibiting the absorption of nutrients from our diet and supplements, and increasing the absorption of toxins. This can result in diarrhea, bloating, bad breath, skin problems, fatigue, hypertension, a weakened immune system and more.

Digestive Detox

The ingredients in Vinco’s Digestive Detox have been shown to be beneficial in promoting a healthy gut terrain by detoxifying the bowel. It provides contemporary ingredients at full therapeutic doses, giving you a fresh approach for full system support.

Olive Leaf Extract (Olea europaea)
Olive leaf has been used for centuries as a medicinal agent. It has been used to fight infections and to improve natural immunity. It has also been used to support normalization of GI flora and immune balance. Olive leaf has antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral and antiparasitic action. It has been shown to inhibit the production of certain amino acids necessary for the vitality of viruses or bacterium. It has also been shown to destroy or inhibit the growth of many parasites. Antibiotic, antifungal, antiviral; hypoglycemic activity; antihypertensive activity.

Cat’s Claw (Uncaria tomentosa)
Cat’s Claw is a rain forest derived botanical used in traditional medicine. Claims relate it’s activity as an immune modulator and free radical scavenger. It has been studied for a potential role in a variety of inflammatory diseases, infections and allergic reactions. Due to the number of potentially active compounds, the pharmacology activity has been difficult to accurately define. Immunomodulatory activity may be derived from multiple components. Several glycosides are reported to stimulate phagocytosis. Triterpenoid alkaloids and quinovic acid glycosides may inhibit replication of some DNA viruses. Anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial (bacterial, fungal, viral), antioxidant, immuno-supportive.

Oregano Leaf (Origanum vulgare)
Oregano has been considered a remedy for respiratory problems such as coughs and bronchitis. It has been used in traditional folk medicine for bloating, gas, urinary tract problems, painful menstruation, rheumatoid arthritis and swollen glands. It might seem strange to learn that this common kitchen herb has implications as a remedy, but it has been used as a drug since the time of the ancient Greeks and Chinese. In China, doctors prescribed it to relieve fever, vomiting, diarrhea and jaundice while the Greeks used it in compresses to treat sores and aching muscles. The primary ingredients in oregano are thymol and carvacrol. Studies have shown that these ingredients help loosen phlegm and relieve spasms in the bronchial passages. (Many of today’s commercial cough remedies contain thymol.) Expectorant, antispasmodic, intestinal-supportive.

Grapefruit Seed (Citrus paradisi)
Grapefruit seed extract (GSE) is reported to have antibiotic, antifungal and antiparasitic effects when used both topically and internally. GSE is used in gastrointestinal health (bowel terrain integrity). GSE seems to exert its antimicrobial activity in the cytoplasmic membrane of the bacteria. GSE primarily causes an alteration of the cell membrane with a dose dependant inhibition of cellular respiration. Antifungal, antibacterial, antiparasitic agent.

Benefits of a Healthy System:
Toxins accumulate in the body, and our ability to detoxify or clean out these foreign substances is important in maintaining overall health. Studies suggest that the inability to detoxify may be a factor in such diseases as:
• Chronic fatigue syndrome
• Fibromyalgia
• Multiple chemical sensitivity
• Alzheimer’s disease
• Parkinson’s disease
• Immune System related illnesses
Allowing your gastrointestinal to function properly can make you feel better.
Transit Time:
The longer fecal matter stays in the gut, the greater the risk of health problems. Transit times (the amount of time necessary for fecal matter to be removed from our system), will greatly improve after bowel detoxification.
Absorption:
A healthy gut terrain means that we can get the most nutritional value out of our food and supplements.
