Not that we need another reason to enjoy a cup of coffee, but there are a BUNCH of studies now showing that drinking coffee has some effect on reducing your risk of various skin cancers!

The most recent study followed over 500,000 people in Europe between the ages of 25-70 for nearly 20 years. During that time, they found that men who regularly drank caffeinated coffee had a lower risk of melanoma than those that didn’t.

A study from last year showed similar, “moderate protective effect” against basal cell cancer, and a meta-analysis from last year showed the same thing!

None of these studies made any claims that coffee or tea would prevent drinkers from getting skin cancer, just that there seems to be a coloration between those who regularly enjoy coffee and a reduced risk of cancer. Still, you’ve got to love when science gives you one more reason to enjoy that morning cup!
